Evolution is amazing. The man’s role has been changing with time in order to be a survivor. From mammoths hunting using spears made of sticks and stones, to fighting a war using bows and arrows, to killing hundreds using armor tanks, to destroying a whole city using atomic bomb, then to chopping up a rack of lamb ribs in the kitchen. Yes, the man has exchanged his role with his woman, so that he could do the cooking while she continues with her overtime (Note: Excludes women who actually bother to join the cooking session). In appreciation, the woman has even granted him a nice appellation – the new age man.

Balls to you, new age man (Note: Includes girly men who don’t or cannot cook).

Cheers.
ps: Feminists: Take it, and go. Take it …. and Go.

Ok ok,

Someday, when almost everyone is connected to almost everyone else via the Internet, I would argue that humans will have evolved into a single collective organism for all practical purposes. It would be much like the way individual cells of your body are united as one human.

Sure, humans aren’t physically connected to each other, but neither are the atoms in your body if you shrink down to their level and take a look. You’d see more empty space in your body than matter. So proximity doesn’t seem to be relevant to the definition of a living entity. It has more to do with how the parts communicate and act in a generally shared purpose for survival. Thus, when humans are linked via a central nervous system called the Internet, we can call humanity a newly evolved creature.

We are connected, each to the other, each to the earth, each to the universe. Our bodies and minds work by the same rules that guide the stars. Frankly, at the end of the day, i feel quite large.

Cheers.
ps: Sounds very negative.

Ok ok,

The other day I was looking out my office balcony and something unusual flashed by on the road. I didn’t get a good look at it but I could tell it was no ordinary car. I wanted a better look, just out of idle curiosity, so I did what anyone would do in that situation: I reached for the remote control so I could rewind and play it back.

The only problem, as I soon realized, is that balconies don’t have a rewind feature. It was frustrating. It’s not the first time I have reflexively reached for the rewind button. Sometimes I miss bits of conversation and I think for a brief moment I’ll rewind and listen to that again. If you have don’t have SH or ST TIVO at home, you might be having the same frustration.

Reel life still isn’t as good as real life, at least on average, but that gap is narrowing from both sides. Real life is getting worse while the quality of television continues to improve. Case in point, have you taken your car to the dealer for servicing during this crazy COE period? If so, I pity you. You already found out that the dealership is struggling on the sales side and they are trying to make up the difference on the service side. These days the sales staff has no function other than to hold your arms and legs while the service staff screws you.

Try taking your car in for some minor service, such as an oil change. You’ll end up paying for fixes that never actually happened, on car components that don’t actually exist. For example, your service agent might tell you that if you don’t get your flumerjib aligned, your kragwalter will oomulated and corrode the maxinflap.

In a situation such as that, you know exactly two things:

1. If you take it somewhere for a second opinion, the second guy will screw you too, but maybe in a new way.
2. If you try to service your car yourself, you will die in a fireball that will be visible from the International Space Station and you will look like Darth Vader just 2mins before he puts on his helmet.

So you loosen your sphincter muscles, take a deep breath, and agree to let the suspicious stranger service your brains out. Your only solace comes from the knowledge that sooner or later a righteous journalist from CNA will bust your dealership. Yeah Right !!!

Cheers.
ps: Sounds very negative.

Ok ok,

Have you ever heard of women talking about, “What women want is ….”?

The next time they start off on you, just stop them right there. Put up your hand and make em stop. Reality is, women do not know what they want. Even if they did know what they wanted, they would never admit what they want is what they want.

Made zero sense to you? Then you must be a woman. If you are a guy on the other hand, you would understand what i am talking about. Don’t be shy, just admit it. I think the key to understanding “them” is communication, or so a woman told me. She says i should learn how to communicate. But i don’t think she is a credible source. I always get the feeling she is secretly laughing at me once my back is turned.

Cheers.
ps: Damn, my mom’s a woman.

As i saw great photos on Facebook, it once suddenly struck me with negative understanding. I have come to realize that these are all the snapshots which our children would look at someday with wonder, thinking their parents had lived smooth, well-ordered lives and got up in the morning to walk proudly on the sidewalks of life, never dreaming the raggedy madness and riot of our actual lives, our actual night, the hell of it, the senseless emptiness.
